In February 1993, George McFarlin and Jim Anderson formed a law firm which in 2016 became James F. Anderson Law Firm, A Professional Corporation, in anticipation of Mr. McFarlin's retirement in 2016. Mr. Anderson has in excess of 25 years of experience in California public finance. They formed the firm, after practicing together at a major national municipal finance law firm for several years, in order to provide legal services not only of high quality but also with the personalized attention expected by their clients.
Mr. Anderson is active as bond counsel and disclosure counsel to cities, counties, school districts, water districts and other local entities, and as counsel to underwriting firms in connection with the issuance of bonds or execution and delivery of certificates of participation, including special tax (community facilities district) bonds, assessment bonds, general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, enterprise revenue bonds and tax increment bonds.
Mr. Anderson has represented various underwriters in numerous financings. These have included Bank of America Securities LLC, Merrill Lynch & Co., O'Connor & Company Securities, Inc., Piper Jaffray & Co., RBC Capital Markets, Southwest Securities, Inc. and Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated.
